observation # 2

location - cash creek

date - may/ 12/2008

time of day - 6:00

temperature -

weather conditions - cloudy cold wind

wind conditions - medium

soil conditions - moist

hypothesis - the plants are going to start to get greener in the next fiew days.

The biggest thing i noticed was the pine tree niddles and the soil they both were verry moist. The soil was almost muddy because of the snow and rain that fell in the morning and the past few days. since the soil was wet i saw a few worms around, causing the birds to fight over them. this gave an excelent example of compitition between birds. The pine tree niddles were verry moist i found this out by taking a few pine needles and puting them in my mouth and sucking on them i could taste the water. In the past few days i could tell the difference in the vegetation around the place. In this ecosystem the bird population is increasing since my first observation and i only saw a couple of birds. Today i counted 10 birds and i could hear many more. I've been wanting to see large animals but i dont think thats going to happen because of the location, but i am keeping my hopes. Plants in this area aren't blooming like i thought they would, i belive the weather is holding back the flowers from blooming.
